ERIBA opens its doors soon

On November 7th, ERIBA officially opens its doors. The welcome speech by dean and vice-chairman board of directors of the UMCG Folkert Kruipers is followed by the opening ceremony with the president of the University of Groningen.

The European Research Institute for the Biology of Ageing (ERIBA) is an institute where top-scientists, divided into research groups, perform fundamental research about the ageing process and diseases that accompany it.

In 2010, the construction for the ERIBA building kicked off, to provide facilities for the research into the biology of ageing.  Located on the Healthy Ageing Campus Netherlands, this institute with state-of-the-art infrastructure is now build and attracts top national and international researchers. Bringing together these top researchers leads to new fundamental insights that result in improved possibilities for prevention, diagnosis and treatment to support the aspects of Healthy Ageing.
