Students of the Hanze University of Applied Science have developed a dementia friendly path, so people with dementia can find their way more easily. Friday December 13th the city councilor opened the path officially.
The dementia friendly path is financed by the city council and is part of the project ‘Make the Korrewegwijk a dementia friendly area’. In the Korrewegwijk live more than 100 people with dementia. The goal of this project is to give dementia a more positive image. A lot of activities have been organized to reach the goal of a positive image. And also many parties have been involved, for example the Hanze University of Applied Science.
Dementia friendly path
The students of the Hanze University of Applied Science have developed a dementia friendly path during the minor Healthy Ageing, a project which is a part of their education. During the minor students of many different majors have investigated the way people can get older on a healthier basis. Students of the minor investigate healthy people, people with disabilities and people with challenges.
