#TAG: ZonMw a notice published for the E-Rare Joint Transnational Call 2015 (JTC 2015).
The purpose of the E-Rare program is to encourage scientists in different countries to build transnational partnerships in the field of rare diseases.
To enable participation of Dutch research groups in the JTC 2015 ZonMw has set a budget of € 1.8 million. The European Commission will also contribute financially to the JTC 2015.
Transnational research proposals must focus on at least one of the following research areas:
joint research using databases of patients and their collections of biological material generally would not be possible on a national scale;
research into rare diseases, including genetic, epigenetic and pathophysiological studies, using innovative and shared resources, technologies (OMICS, new generation sequencing, etc.) and expertise;
research into the development of applications for diagnostics and treatments for rare diseases. This may be identification and characterization of (bio) markers for diagnosis and prognosis, the development of screening systems and innovative diagnostic instruments, the generation of relevant cell and / or animal models and preclinical studies using pharmacological and gene or cell therapy.
Dutch research groups can apply for up to € 250,000 per project.
Project ideas can be submitted by not later than the third week of January 2015. The deadline for submission of project ideas is February 18, 2015 at 17:00.
