The high quality of care at the UMCG on breast cancer patients and patients with a stoma is revalued respectively with the pink ribbon of the Netherlands Breast Cancer Association (BVN) and the hallmark of the Ostomy Association. The granting of the labels is important for patients and provides an incentive for health professionals to continue to improve care.

The pink ribbon contributes to measuring and comparing the quality of breast cancer care. The award is based on five criteria, including the composition of the team of professionals, the number of patients treated and their participation in the patient satisfaction survey.

With the hallmark of the Ostomy Association meets the UMCG the thirteen minimum standards of good ostomy care from the perspective of ostomates.
