"You have to find adequate support, the shoe should fit well, you can not walk with knees bent and the heel should not be planted too heavily on the pavement," says Professor Bert Otten UMC Groningen.
He has studied how the walking pattern changes when you wear other shoes.
"The load on the feet can be significant," says Otten. "The pressure on the forefoot by wearing heels has a big impact on your feet."
